A Nottinghamshire YMCA team member is taking on an incredible challenge in support of YMCA Supported Housing.
Lucy Trevelyan has launched a fundraiser, Making a house a home, alongside her training for the London Marathon 2026, with the aim of raising money to help create more welcoming, comfortable living spaces for people who have experienced homelessness.
Lucy, who started her role at YMCA in September, works in Supported Housing, helping to find and secure properties so people have somewhere safe to live. Through this work, she has seen first-hand that having a roof over your head is only part of the journey. Rebuilding confidence, stability and a sense of home is just as important.
The fundraiser will help provide simple but meaningful items such as bedding, kitchen essentials, plants, pictures and other small comforts that can make a real difference to someone starting over.
In her fundraiser message, Lucy shares that balancing work, family life and marathon training has not been easy, but the resilience of the people supported through YMCA has inspired her to keep going. She is taking on the full 26.2 miles to raise funds that will help turn accommodation into a place people can truly call home.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help support this effort and make a positive difference for people moving forward after homelessness.
